Debates.
What is a debate on Poultry Talk?
Poultry Talk will raise a topic/subject and matter which many people feel strongly about. They will put what the topic/subject is and explain a little about it so people know some background information on the subject. There will then be a thread created in the special debate forums on the Poultry Talk forums for that debate and members and Guests can reply with there views. It will be left open for one week when we hope lots of passionate, serious and fun discussion will happen on that topic. After that week we will lock the post and draw a conclusion. This will then be available to view in the future so other people can learn about different peoples views (there will be links to previous debates on this page). They will be deleted after 12 months but may be kept by us for future referance.
How does it work?
You read about the debate topic for this week below. Want to comment so click on the link next to that debate taking you straight to that thread for it on the forums. You can then post your views. You don't have to be a forum member to post and forum members can post as guests. Post it and your view is there to been seen by everyone.
What are the rules?
The rules are as follows:
*No swearing.
*No reference to rude things, items, or topics.
*You must respect each others views and note that everyone has their own opinions. Must not quote any particular person, company or business.
*Do not contact anyone with regards to anything they have said on the debate.
*Only reply and post your opinions using text only and it must be in English.
*Apply that other people are nasty/sick by saying something similar or offensive.
*Be responsible.

Do you think that showing has become to much about peoples names than the actual birds? Has it become restricted making it harder for beginners to be able to get into the showing scene and achieve good results? Do you think some people are in it just for themselves and not the birds? Do you think it is all fair? What do you think the future is for showing and how should it be?

The Opinion Team.
What is the Opinion Team?
Every three weeks we will ask each opinion team member for their views and opinions on a subject/topic that may be related to poultry or a popular news story/topic of interest. We plan for this to be interesting so you can see what these different people think on different poultry subject or news items as they have the same or related interest of liking poultry. Each team member will just write a short bit giving their views on it. They will all be asked the same question so we can see how their answers differ between them.

Comment and View.
Every 3 weeks each Comment and View panel member will will write about their views and comments on a particular poultry matter/topic or an item/news topic of interest. Some may be the same as each others, some may be different but it is the is their choice on what they choose to comment on. They will then write a or some detailed paragraphs on it hopefully educating you and telling you why they think what they think.

We run 4 poultry/bird related polls. There will be a new poll each week and each poll will last for 1 month. We will rotate the polls so there is a new one each week.
We will display all previous poll results for one month. After that we will store them for future referance and use around the site.
You are allowed one vote on each new poll and should vote honestly please.

As these were our first polls we ran 4 polls at the same time which all started on the same date, we will now be adding a new poll question each week and each question will last for 1 month. We will rotate it so there are continuous polls and a new poll each week.
