New online Poultry Shop opens!
A new online poultry shop has recently been opened on The Poultry Garden. The Poultry Garden which also has a poultry forum recently added the new shop which sells chicken ornaments, gifts, egg cups and more. You can purchase items online or via phone or email. Farm Shop Now Open at Devonshire Traditional Breeds Centre.
The Devonshire Traditional Breeds Centre (DTB Centre) has just opened a farm shop in it's existing shop area!
They are now selling locally made preserves and pickles, eggs, honey, local chocolates, Duchy Originals biscuits, cheese crackers, Dorset Cereals, Miles Tea and Coffee, Local sausages, meat, fruit, vegetables and more!
This is another addition they have added after recently opening their own Cafe selling Cream Teas, Sunday Lunches, Breakfasts, cakes, snacks and light lunches where you can sit inside and out.
They also sell perennial plants outside the cafe in their own Home Farm Plants area and have a well stocked gift shop and sell all sorts for poultry keeping along with the essentials.
Of course there are the chickens which you can wonder around as well. It is definitely worth a visit.

Make sure you....
Some must do jobs at this time of you. We recommend you do these jobs to ensure your birds enjoy as much of a stress free life as possible.
Plenty of Water ~ As always you should ensure you have a plentiful supply of clean fresh water in a proper clean drinker but especially more in this type of weather and remember to change it regularly!
Ventilation/air flow - Birds should always have good ventilation but even more so when it is this hot. Make sure you try and keep shed windows open and allow air to circulate. You can always put up inner mesh windows or doors to stop wild birds flying in.

Freedom Food.
Freedom food products are monitored by the RSPCA and producers must follow and comply with their strict standards which are their to benefit the birds/animals and their welfare. They go that extra bit further to ensure the birds receive good care and that their needs/requirements are met and base their standards on the different types of animals and what they need.
You can find Freedom food products in many supermarkets including Morrisons and Sainsbury's but you need to look for products with the Freedom Food logo on it as they are the only products which have been monitored to ensure they comply with the Freedom Food Standards.
